Greetings moth enthusiasts! It's been a very busy and productive year since my last post. I am pleased to announce the soon to be published "Annotated Taxonomic Checklist Of The Lepidoptera Of North America, North Of Mexico" edited by Gregory R. Pohl and Stephen R. Nanz. Scheduled for release by November, this checklist is the culmination of over a decade's work by Greg Pohl, Bob Patterson, Jonathan Pelham, and host of authors and contributors including myself, in the spirit of Ron Hodges' 1983 Checklist. In other exciting news, the much anticipated MONA Fascicle covering Epiblema, Sonia, Suleima, and Notocelia by Donald J. Wright and Todd M. Gilligan is likewise scheduled for published by November. Please visit the order page for a detailed description and ordering information.

On a sadder note, we recently lost three icons of North American Lepidopterology:

• Dr. Jerry A. Powell, died on July 8, 2023 at the age of 90, a life well lived. Jerry was an author of many books and papers, notably the "Moths of Western North America" and "Tortricoidea...", MONA Fascicle 8.1. His biography is available on the Essig Museum of Entomology.
  
  
• Dr. Paul Alexander Opler's battle with cancer ended on Feb. 6, 2023 at the age of 84. Paul, another author with a long list of accomplishments, was a coauthor of "Moths of Western North America" and the recent MONA Fascicles covering Notodontidae. His obituary with a list of publications is included in the Denver Museum of Nature & Science Reports, Number 21, pages 13-32.
  
  
• Dr. James S. Miller, lead author of the recent MONA Fascicles covering Notodontidae, paseed away unexpectedly March 24, 2022 at the age of 69. Lists of his accomplishments and accolades can be accessed at American Museum of Natural History and Discover Life. Jim was also an acclaimed country singer and guitarist.
