Larva and Host Plants: Leaf-miner of American chestnut (Castanea dentata). Similar Species: 23a0039 Coptotriche zelleriella: is smaller. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: castaneaeella (Chambers, 1875) (Tischeria) - MONA 1983: 140 castanella (Walsingham, 1891) (Tischeria) emend.; TL: (no type). cinereotunicella (Braun, 1927) (Tischeria) cinerotunicella; (Braun, 1972) (Tischeria) missp.; TL: (no type). Taxonomic Notes: Coptotriche castaneaeella: Formerly placed in the genus Tischeria.
