Similar Species: 933042.1 Lacinipolia acutipennis: Best separated by dissection where distribution overlaps. 933042.3 Lacinipolia dimocki: Where distribution overlaps, sareta is separated by smaller size and duller white hindwing. 933042 Lacinipolia pensilis: Best separated by dissection where distribution overlaps. 933039 Lacinipolia teligera: Where distribution overlaps, teligera is separated by larger size, broader forewing and better-defined, crisper forewing maculation; best separated by genitalia. 933040 Lacinipolia vicina: Where distribution overlaps, vicina is separated by larger size, bivoltine spring / fall flight (univoltine from late June to early August for sareta) and genitalia. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: sareta (Smith, 1906) (Mamestra) - MONA 1983: [NEW] Taxonomic Notes: Lacinipolia sareta (Smith, 1906), formerly treated as a subspecies of Lacinipolia vicina (Grote, 1874), is raised to full species status in Schmidt (2015), ZooKeys. 527: 107, 115.
