Schinia n. sp. 2 is a valid, undescribed species reported from California as macneilli Hardwick, 1996, a name treated as "UNAVAIL.; nom. nud." by Schmidt (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023). For the purposes of listing this species without proliferating an unavailable name, MPG replaces macneilli with n. sp. 2 but retains macneilli as a synonym on advice from Chris Schmidt (pers. comm., 2024). |
