Distribution: Southern Florida. Larva and Host Plants: A palm skeletonizer. Description/ Field Marks: "... scattered black scales on the forewings... This is the “coconut skeletonizer” that Bill Howard, palm pest expert, researched after it broke out in 1995." - James Hayden (pers. comm., 2/4/2018) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: howardi Hayden, 2021 (Homaledra) - MONA 1983: [NEW]; Holotype: Miami, FL. Taxonomic Notes: Homaledra howardi Hayden, 2021, n. sp., is described from Florida, Insecta Mundi, 0859: 10.
