Synonymy:
  • nigritus (Hodges, 1983) (Recurvaria) - MONA 1983: 1823
    Note: unnecessary emendation.
  • niger; (Hodges, 1983) (Recurvaria) missp.; TL: (no type).
  • nigra (Busck, 1903) (Recurvaria) preocc.
Note: preoccupied by nigra (Haworth, 1828) (Recurvaria).
  • Taxonomic Notes: Coleotechnites nigra (Busck, 1903) is reinstated as the valid name of species formerly known as nigritus (Hodges, 1983), an unnecessary replacement name (Eiseman et al. 2025). This name was erroneously thought to be preoccupied in the genus Recurvaria by the European species nigra (Haworth, 1828), but the two were in fact never in Recurvaria at the same time.
