Distribution: New England and upper Midwest; associated with sand dunes. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: clavana Fernald 1882 (Semasia) - MONA 1983: 2968; Type locality: Lectotype: Truro, MA Taxonomic Notes: Eucosma clavana: Formerly placed in the genus Phaneta, Gilligan et al. (2013), Zootaxa, 3746(2): 301-337.
