Synonymy: behrensii (Stretch, 1872) (Sthenopis) emend. - MONA 1983: 33; TL: (no type). anceps (Edwards, 1881) (Hepialus) behrensi (McDunnough, 1938) (Hepialus) emend.; TL: (no type). behrnsii; (Stretch, 1872) (Sthenopis) orig. missp.; TL: (no type). desolatus (Strecker, 1875) (Hepialus) montana (Stretch, 1872) (Sthenopis) - MONA 1983: [34] tacomae (Edwards, 1874) (Epialus) Taxonomic Notes: Phymatopus behrensii (Stretch, 1872) corrects the original spelling of behrnsii, see Stretch, 1872:240, and misspelling of behrensi in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist). This species includes as a synonym montana (Stretch, 1872) in Nielsen et al. (2000).
