Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: wauaria (Linnaeus, 1758) (Phalaena) - MONA 1983: [NEW in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023)]  fuscaria (Thunberg, 1792) (Phalaena)  v-nigraria (Haworth, 1809) (Geometra) Taxonomic Notes: Speranza loricaria (Eversmann, 1837), n. comb. (Õunap et al. 2024), was formerly placed in the genus Macaria by Schmidt & McGuinness (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
