Distribution: Possible restricted to the southern Rockies with outliers representing misidentified decoloraria. Similar Species: 91a0427 Xanthorhoe decoloraria: aside from possibly range, cannot at present be distinguished from alticolata except by the long pectinations of the male antennae which are very short in for the latter. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: alticolata Barnes & McDunnough, 1916 (Xanthorhoe) - MONA 1983: 7385; TL: Silverton, CO.
