Synonymy: ranunculi (Edwards, 1878) (Xanthothrix) - MONA 1983: 9772 Note: n. comb. (Keegan et al. 2026); formerly in the genus Xanthothrix (n. syn. of Chrysoecia). Host Plants: Bigelow's tickseed (Leptosyne bigelovii) (Keegan et al. 2026). Host familiy: Asteraceae.  Host genera: Leptosyne[=Coreopsis].  Notes: flower heads (Powell & Opler 200). Similar  : Species 931671.1n Chrysoecia albipuncta: has a large round pale spot at end of cell, lacking in ranunculi. Pinned specimens of related species.
