Similar Species:
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy:
  • sonorae (Walsingham, 1884) (Conchylis) - MONA 1983: [NEW since Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023)]; TL: Sonora, Mexico.
  • Taxonomic Notes: Aethes sonorae (Walsingham, 1884) was included in Pohl et al. (2016) (Checklist) but erroneously listed as excluded in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023). However, specimens from Arizona exist in the NMNH and the species may be represented by BOLD:ACE4290, a BIN group with specimens from AZ. It was consequently treated as a recognized North American species by Pohl & Nanz (2025).
