Distribution: Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas possibly to Florida.
Similar Species:

  • Taxonomic Notes: Aethesoides sp. 1 is a cryptic, possibly undescribed species is the first representative of the genus from north of Mexico, two males collected in Liberty, TX by S.J. Marcus dissected by Hugh McGuinness who also dissected several more specimens ranging from Texas to Florida, though it is uncertain if more that one species might be involved.
