Distribution: Introduced from Europe. Long Island, NY. Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Pinaceae.  Host genera: Abies Larix Picea Pinus Tsuga.  (Shropshire & Tallamy 2025 [accessed 6xii2025]) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: hartigiana (Ratzeburg, 1840) (Phalaena) - MONA 1983: [NEW] faillana Fuchs, 1903 (Cymolomia) Taxonomic Notes: Cymolomia hartigiana (Ratzeburg, 1840) is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico. This species is likely a recent introduction to Long Island, NY, McGuinness & Brown (2017), Proc. Entom. Soc. Wash., 119(4): 667-669.
