Description/
Field Marks:
Olethreutes albiciliana is most similar to O. auricapitana but with fringe yellowish-white from apex to mid-termen. Labial palpi usually less orange and a patch of brown scaling visible dorsally and with two pairs of yellowish costal antemedial striae more well defined as in P. agilana. Silver scales may form elongated spots but not well developed lines.
Similar Species:
  • Phiaris siderana (Treitschke, 1835), possibly congeneric, is a western species.
  • Olethreutes auricapitana.
  • Olethreutes n. sp. nr. auricapitana.
  • Pristerognatha agilana.
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)

  • albiciliana (Fernald, 1882) (Sericoris) - MONA 1983: 2832
      Type locality: Lectotype: Orono, Penobscot Co., ME.
