Similar Species:
  • Goya ovaliger (Blanchard, 1975) is separated by DNA barcode. The single sequenced specimen of "ovaliger" (USNM ENT 01236171) is placed in BOLD:AAF7534, a BIN which also includes specimens identified as "stictella". USNM ENT 01236171 is also well separated from all other specimens in BOLD:AAF7534. Pending further investigation, we assume that it is correctly identified and that BOLD:ADF4487, the BIN for "Goya n. sp.", refers to a cryptic, possibly undescribed species.
