Distribution: Southern BC to MT and northern CA, in mountains, Munroe (1976). Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: thallophilalis Hulst 1886 (Botis) - MONA 1983: 5012; Type locality: California flavifimbrialis Warren 1892 (Noctuelia) thrallophilalis Hulst 1886 (Botis) Taxonomic Notes: Loxostege thallophilalis (Hulst, 1886), a justified emendation and correctly spelled in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist), was erroneously listed previously as Loxostege thrallophilalis following the original spelling on p. 154 in Trans. Amer. Ent. Soc. 13 which was corrected on p. 168 of the same work, Munroe, (1976), MONA Fascicle 13.2a: 72.
