Taxonomic Notes: |
Calamotropha paludella Hübner, [1824], an apparently introduced species from Europe, is now recognized within the North American fauna. First documented in 2017 from Block Island, RI by Aaron Hunt, records for this species from eastern Long Island in 2008, 2018, and 2021 were subsequently found to refer to this species. A population from northern Virginia along the Potomac Estuary documented in 2023 by Aaron Hunt may refer to the Asian subspecies C. p. purella. (Generic treatment follows Léger et al. (2019). |
