Synonymy: quadrilinearia Packard 1873 (Halia) - MONA 1983: 6288 disparata Warren 1904 (Tephrina) inquinaria Hulst 1887 (Semiothisa) pallescens Grossbeck 1907 (Selidosema) Taxonomic Notes: Macaria quadrilinearia (Packard, 1873), formerly placed in the genus Itame in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002). This species includes as a synonym 6307 Speranza pallescens (Grossbeck, 1907) in Ferguson (2008).
