Distribution: USA: southwestern UT, northeastern AZ, southern NV, southeastern CA (Troubridge 2008). Similar Species: Sympistis obscurata (Barnes & McDunnough, 1912) tends to have darker forewing and duskier hindwing with more contrasting venation; possible range overlap with pachet in eastern Mojave Desert (Dave Wikle, pers. comm., 2022). Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: pachet Troubridge 2008 (Sympistis); Type locality: Holotype: ♀, "USA, Nevada, Coyote Summit, 6 mi. SSW of Tempiute, 5600’" Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis pachet Troubridge, 2008, n. sp., Zootaxa, 1903:44.
