Distribution: North Africa, India, Pakistan; not found in North America north of Mexico. Seasonality and Size: Forewing length 9mm. Larva and Host Plants: Hosts include representatives from the Malvaceae most notably, Gossypium spp. (cotton), and Abelmoschus esculentus (okra) Description/ Field Marks: Forewings are pale yellow-orange with a yellow-green longitudinal streak extending from the base of the wing to the termen. Hindwings white with pale brown wing margins. Similar Species: The distinctive wing pattern makes this species easily distinguishable from North American Noctuoidea. There are several yellow noctuids, however they lack the green longitudinal streak and overall yellow-orange hue. Neumoegenia poetica has a similar hue of green on the entire lower half of the wing, extending from base to apex, however the moth is white and the green color has a golden iridescence.
