"Head, body, antennae and all the wings black with a strong metallic steel-blue reflection. Underside of wings same as above. Expanse, 31mm." - Beutenmüller (1894). |

- Triprocris cyanea Barnes & McDunnough, 1910 is smaller, WS: 23-25mm.
- Triprocris smithsoniana (Clemens, 1860) is smaller and less metalic.
