Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: argillacearia Packard 1874 (Tephrina) - MONA 1983: 6282 modestaria Hulst 1895 (Tephrina) Taxonomic Notes: Macaria argillacearia (Packard, 1874), formerly placed in the genus Itame in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002).
