Distribution: AL, SC, NC, IA, IN, MO, AR, OK, (Brown 2019). Description/ Field Marks: See Metzler, 1999. Genitalia: See Metzler, 1999. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: ringsi (Metzler, 1999) (Cochylis) - MONA 1983: [NEW]; Holotype: Newton Co., IN. Taxonomic Notes: Aethes ringsi (Metzler, 1999), n. sp., Great Lakes Ent. 32: 191. This species was formerly in the genus Cochylis and transferred to Aethes in Brown (2019), Zootaxa, 4671(2): 217.
