Synonymy: rutilana (Hübner, 1818) (Tortrix) extralim. - MONA 1983: 3758 ssp. a. canadiana Razowski, 1997 (Aethes) Taxonomic Notes: Aethes rutilana (Hübner, 1818) is treated as Holarctic in Gilligan et al. (2020) with the subspecies A. r. canadiana Razowski, 1997 an apparent native and the subspecies A. r. rutilana introduced to the Northwest.
