Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: deceptrix Dyar 1913 (Sciagraphia); Type locality: Tehuacan, Mexico sobriaria Barnes & McDunnough 1917 (Itame); Type locality: Regington, AZ Taxonomic Notes: Macaria deceptrix (Dyar, 1913), formerly placed in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), MONA Fascicle 17.2: 148, is returned to the genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002). Previously listed as 6312 Itame sobriaria in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist), this species includes as a new synonym Itame graphidaria sobriaria Barnes & McDunnough, 1917 in Ferguson (2008).
