Synonymy: saphenata Ferguson 2008 (Speranza); Type locality: Big Bend, TX Taxonomic Notes: Macaria saphenata (Ferguson, 2008) n. sp., MONA Fascicle 17.2, p. 157. This species was described in the genus Speranza which is treated as a synonym of Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002).
