Distribution: Western Colorado-Southern Utah south to Northwestern Arizona. Elevation ~ 6,000 ft-Arizona. Sandy habitat. Seasonality and Size: Late July 23-August, September. Wingspan 24-28mm. Similar Species: See 10102 Sympistis pernotata Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: buchis Troubridge 2008 (Sympistis) Taxonomic Notes: Sympistis buchis Troubridge, 2008, n. sp., Zootaxa, 1903:1-95.
